Another good practice as we continue to prepare for our Christmas Program on December 14.

Three more Sunday practices (Nov. 23, 30, Dec. 7), then our Dress Rehearsal on Saturday, December 13, 5:00 PM.

Remember, you can check the church calendar for rehearsal dates and times also.

Sadly, Mr. Thomas had to cancel at the last minute last Sunday but the Choir did a great job on the anthem with Charlotte providing some organ-based-oboe for us.

Good News! - Joella Hood WILL be 'fluting' with us for the Christmas Concert.

Traditional Service Task Force will meet again this Sunday (Nov. 2).  Be sure to let Linda or myself know of any feedback you have (or hear).

Traditional Service Task Force met this past Sunday.  To facilitate a closer sense of community during the service, efforts are going to be made to 'close us in' some.  That is, move out some of the extra seating, move Rev. Sherri closer to the people (floor level), move the Choir closer to the people (experimented with this at practice Sunday afternoon), and also move the altar out so Rev. Sherri can serve communion from behind the altar.  We will work on blending a little non-traditional music into the service.  Continue to pray for the service, the choir, and the task force as we all seek God's will for the Traditional Service.

Sunday Anthem: AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE)

Past Sunday Choir Attendance -   Service (14)   Practice (9)

See you all Sunday!!!

Remember, the Traditional Service Task Force will meet this Sunday.  Thanks for the ideas that have already been passed along to me.  Others are certainly welcome.

Specifically to the Choir ... ideas are needed here as well.  The number of Choir participants on Sunday morning is declining.  Recruitment ideas are needed.  I will check with Rev. Sherri about another Ministry Moment as a good first step.

Great practice last Sunday afternoon.

Sunday Anthem: GREATER LOVE

See you all Sunday.

You may have noticed in the Evangel (or heard) that a committee / task force has been formed to evaluate the Traditional Worship Service and suggest changes that might make it more attractive and/or effective.  As you know, we are losing more valuable members from that service than we are bringing in.  So, what can be done?

If you have ideas / suggestions / etc., please share those with me, or one of the other committee members.  Members are Gail Chesnut, Linda Brandon, Michelle Rush, David Prim, Larry King, Lynn Davis, Rev. Sherri, and myself.  Any input is welcome.  The Sanctuary Choir and Music Ministries are an important part of the Traditional service and your suggestions are valued and needed.

Thanks... David A.
